I would like to thank Amenda and Ben's wife for the very kind words on my version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. However, no one sings that song better than Jerry West or Butch Barnes when he was with the Band of Oz. Just to be compared to those guys is an honor. I also thank everyone who have been supporting me as I begin a solo career after playing so many years with the Carousels. Like all the GREAT beach music bands and performers, writing songs and performing is one of the greatest pleasures anyone can do. The greatest honor is knowing your hard work is appreciated. Every performer will say it's done out of love and that's the reason we do it. So whether you care for a band's song or not, just know that's what keeps beach music alive for everyone to enjoy today and in the future.
Thanks again to everyone for the opportunity to do what I love to do.....

I've heard David Terry perform Somewhere Over The Rainbow. So, I guess you can say I was drinking too much as well. The Band of Oz does a great job with the song. However, David when he sings the song seems to display more passion that really does touch your heart. I don't believe anyone is knocking the Band of OZ by saying they like the way David Terry sings the song. So, yes... there are a few of us who must be drinking too much Billy...

My wife and I went to the Spring
SOS release party at the Pirate's Cove and heard David Terry perform his new release song.
I`m liking that new Lonne Givens song: Deejay spin a tune for me. They played it after the bands played. What a sax part! |

Joy, you are correct. Roxie... you need to learn to show a little repect for others. You have the option to express your opinion; however, you don't to state it so vividly...
My wife and I went to the Spring SOS release party at the Pirate's Cove and heard David Terry perform his new release song. The sound system made it difficult to hear, but I was impressed with his song. It has a good shag beat and I believe it will do well for him. My wife really liked it when he sang, Somewhere Over The Rainbow. She looked at me, smiled and said she liked it better than the way the Band of Oz performs it.

beautiful summer, not worthy of air play!! sounds like a bunch of middle school band students. Can't
find a pitch if it hit em up side the head. sorry, just my sensitive ears
Roxie - Obviously you must have played in a middle school band on the second or third line. The Tuba must have hit you up side your head a few too many times. Beautiful Summer may not be the best beach song out, but it is not as bad as some I have heard. It does have a good shag beat and the vocals are okay. Maybe you need to have your sensitive ears realigned...

Thanks for playing the National Anthem in the morning.
I remember when the TV stations used to sign off with the National Anthem at midnight.
Other than the great people that work here and play our songs, this is another reason why I like the Surf.

Our thanks to Harvey for letting us sit at "The Head Table" at Filets Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and enjoyed meeting some of the 94.9 folks. Got a kick out of Billy's hat! I think Filet's will become a regular Sunday afternoob "thang" for us and our friends. Thanks again for being so nice to us.....Bob and Catherine |

I just heard a commercial for Pete's at Dock Holidays, opening in May with the Surf team helping out on Wed. Does anyway know if this is the now defunct Dynamite's or the Marina Rawbar? If not,do you know where it will be?
Thanks for the info. in advance. |
