Thanks Wendy and Pamela. I'll check out the song, Wendy. I'd love to be able to hear the band.
I'm thinking about taking some vacation in August where I'll be in NC and VA. Perhaps I can arrange
to make it over there to hear them. I love horns. They're my favorite in the jazz arena. I'll
take listen online.

Barbara,
You are right, we are all here for beach music. And as always "you can't please all the
people all the time." If you are ever in eastern NC near Wilmington, there is a place called
Frankie's. My husbands band The Four Knights(beach/motown)plays there at least once a month. Go to their
website and you can listen to a couple of clippets from them and also view their dates for playing. They have
an awesome horn section. Hope you enjoy them, and I hope you get to come to eastern NC soon for the great
beach music scene.

Listen guys, I agree that some of the songs leave something to be desired, but there are some others out
there (including the latest from the Castaways) where you've got "want to be country singers"
not sounding so good. They definitely aren't beach music singers, but who am I to question why their
music gets played. Nevertheless, there's no reason to get nasty about it. We all share one thing in
common, we like beach music. I'd love to hear the band that plays beach and Motown. Unfortunately,
I'm in Georgia and don't have an opportunity get back to the Carolinas often.

I do believe
"that lady" was more upset at her name not being known than she was the music.

ShockedRight On Rob... Everyone seemed quick to jump on someone (Joy) who started the truth that the Souls songs
were not that good. Thanks for telling it like it is. I too thought "Standing Up In A Hammack" and
"She's Yours, She's Mine" was not good enough to make it on anyones chart. Can't
believe 94.9 even put it on their Voting List. Now I did like the Carousel's songs, so maybe that will
help Tony Baker and the Souls improve any music in the future...

That woman from Goldsboro is right..."In a hammock standing up" is almost as bad as that "your
eyes all over me" song that that Wheeler girl tries to sing.

Being the wife of a musician that has played with Henry Jones, Tony Baker, Rick Dixon, David Terry and many,
many others over the past 22 years. I can say without a doubt these men pour their heart and soul into the
music they perform and love every minute of it. Unfortunately, not everyone has the pleasure of knowing the
private lives of these individuals and the dedication and devotion they give to do this. Many hours goes into
practice, travel, setup and play time to give the people a show they will remember. All this said, their
families have to be willing to sacrifice of themselves to allow their husbands, fathers and grandfathers a
chance to do what they LOVE. Ms. Thomas, I understand your disappointment in the breakup of The Carousel
Band. Being a personal friend of Henry Jones and David Terry both, it was not an easy decision to make. But,
in this business of music, there are times where timing is everything and you have to take it when you can.
That said, please understand that Tony Baker, Henry Jones and Rick Dixon teaming up to bring back the original
Carousels is going to take time to get back in the groove again. These are very talented men with alot to
offer the Beach music industry. Give them a chance to get used to playing together again and get in the play
time they need to bring us the sound we know they can give. They aren't as young as they used to be
(sorry guys, but I've known you along time.) As for David Terry and the others, they will be fine. They
are all very talented and will make their mark in this industry also. My husband has played in bands for the
past 23 years in all areas of music, country, beach, top40,etc. He is know a member of a band that performs a
mixture of both beach, and motown. They are GREAT if I do say so myself, but it takes alot of work and time
away from their families. BUT, it is what makes them who they are and we love all of them for it. They all
continue to be great friends in this industry and never hesitate to help a brother out when in need. From the
old Carousel Band to the new/original Carousel band to the new endeavors of David Terry, they will all shine.

Much love,
Pam Keil
wife of a member of
The Four Knights Band

You're absolutely right Butch, there's no reason to be a jack-leg about someone not knowing your
name. I'm sure the band will do just fine without "that lady" listening.

David and Tony, rest assured that most folks from eastern North Carolina are not like that lady. Keep playing
your music and most fans will come on board. Best of luck in the future.

WinkHello everyone and thank you, Joy and Amanda for all the very kinds words. I would like to set the record
straight as to the reason I am no longer playing with the Carousels. After more than 30 wonderful years of
playing music across the South Eastern States, I decided it was time to retire from the physical part of being
in a band. My health has declined and I knew it was the decision I had to make. So I announced to the members
of the Carousels that I would be leaving at the end of 2008. I knew this would give them time to find a
replacement and continue on. Henry Jones the owner met with Tony Baker & Ricky Dixon (Original Carousel
Members) and they decided to reunite the original group. Thus the formation of The Fabulous Carousels. This
reunion did not include Andrew Dill, Brian Terry and Shaun Rhodes. There are plans for them to join or form
another band shortly.
As for me, I am planning to continue writing, singing and producing songs in the
future. I'm planning to release my first single at this years Spring SOS. So I hope you will like what I
produce and continue your support.
I hope everyone will give the Fabulous Carousels the opportunity to show
you what they can do. All are great players and the vocals are wonderful.
Thanks again to everyone who have
supported us in the past and I look forward to a great and wonderful future...

Sad Tony Baker, the lady's name from Goldsboro is Joy Thomas. If you are going to reference me, then it
would be appreciated if you use my name. I've done some research on "The Souls" and listened to
the songs you so proudly referred to in your comments. Sorry, I was not impressed! I was not aware of David
Terry retiring from the band and I'm sure the music industry will greatly miss his talents. I only hope
he continues to release songs in the future to included, Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
As far as making new
friends as you stated, you have not started in the right direction with me. So I can assure you that myself
and many of my friends who also read your comments and go to the Singles Dances, will not be going to see your
NEW FABULOUS CAROUSELS in the future.

Sad June, I wanted to give you an update on the future Carousel Band. My Husband and I went to Charleston to
Pivots to help in the fund raising to keep the club going. We like Pivots and have gone there on several
ocasions. Tony Baker and the Souls (The New Fabulous Carousels) played during this event. Although Tony Baker
did a good job, it was obvious to my husband and I that they are not the same Carousel Band that we had
previously heard and enjoyed. From what we were able to find out, only one member from the Carousels are
playing in what was known as the Souls. So what happened to the rest of the Carousels? Are they branching out
on their own? If anyone knowns the answers, please let us know because I will miss not hearing the Carousels I
know and love...

now have xm radio and there is nothing I would rather hear than the surf on a xm radio station. I do get to
listen online though. Thanks for keeping the beach music alive. Maybe i will hear you on xm radio one day.

We're Moving To Myrtle Beach!!! My husband and I brought another couple with us from snowy Hanover Pa
this past weekend to visit friends living in Little River and to search for a place to call home hopefully
sometime before fall! We were able to see Sea-Cruz perform Friday and Sunday nights....they are absolutely
WONDERFUL!! Molly, Butch, and Dino are so nice and funny they put on a fantastic show...I just love em'!
Hearing them on the radio is great but seeing them in person, I'm a complete fan!! Thanks SURF for
allowing my ears and heart to be in "Paradise" till my body gets there for good!

Shocked I can't believe the Carousels are breaking up their band. Who ever thought of that idea must be
crazy! I heard them about a month ago at a Single Dance and I was moved to tears by the way David Terry sang
"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" to a lady going through cancer treatments. It was one of the best
performances that I have ever seen a band do for someone and the emotions he expressed while singing was truly
wonderful. And to add to the thoughfulness, the younger member of the band who I can't remember his name,
came out and danced with the lady during the song. I was converted into a true Carousel Fan at that point.

I've never heard of the Souls, but I can't believe disbanding the Carousels that I heard and
forming a different group will even come close to the group I heard that night in Kinston, NC. My heart will
always remain grateful for being there to witness David Terry sing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"
making an impact on one woman's struggle with cancer.

God Bless those guys for that night and I only
hope David Terry will continue making music and record "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" because I want
it play at my funeral one day... Not too soon I hope!!!!!

ShockedAmenda, I could not agree with you any more. I heard the Carousels during the Fall SOS at the Avista
Resort. They were one of the best bands that performed that day. I too, was not impressed by the Souls, so I
can't see why The Carousels would change their format. I understand that David Terry was the one who
played the keyboards and he was a main entertainer in the band and good vocalist. I hate to see him leave. I
was also impressed by the younger players in the band.

Sad What happened to the Carousel Band? I logged on to their website and read where they have disbanded.
There's a new link to Tony Baker and the Souls changing their name to The Carousels. One of the members
joined with The Souls. What happened to the rest of the Carousels? I heard them several times and thought they
were one of the hottest bands out there. Why would they want to change? The Souls are okay, but they are not
the Carousels that I enjoyed so much. Just when you think there's and band out there that you can enjoy
and like, they change things around... Go figure... I've heard the Souls and they aren't in the same
league as the Carousels I know... Now if they joined the two groups together, they might have made a great
improvement.

I will miss the Carousels I heard in Myrtle Beach on New Years and only hope David Terry and
the other members will start their own band. I for one would go hear them...
