“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” has a lot of new fans here in our community! We all can thank 2 local teachers for that! Gail Horton and Jason Bendik from North Myrtle Beach Elementary School nominated Renee Wilson to be a recipient of a new home. Renee took in her 4 grandchildren 3 years ago when their mother deserted them. They have been living in a 2-bedroom mobile home off Highway 90 in Longs in very cramped and unsafe conditions. The teachers, aware of the family situation, had such respect for Mrs. Wilson, in addition to their love for the children. |

Vanna in Charleston Vanna White, Pat Sajak, and the entire staff of WHEEL OF FORTUNE were in Charleston, South Carolina the weekend of January 12 – 14 to tape upcoming episodes of the popular game show. A contingency of local residents attended the taping on Sunday. The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce organized the trip, which included 2 chartered buses and box lunches. |

Tiger Cubs visit the Surf Two packs of Tiger Cubs from Troop 400 recently visited the studio of 94.9. The boys were fulfilling a requirement to earn their Tiger Cub Badge. I don’t know who enjoyed it more…the boys or the Surf employees! |

The 2007 North Strand Tabletop Business Expo was held at Colonial Mall from 4pm – 7pm on Tuesday, January 23. This was the third year for this event, which offers exposure to all residents of businesses and organizations on the North end of Horry County. |
