Black's Tire Charity Golf Tournament and Hooter's Pro Cup Race

94.9 the Surf is the “Official Radio Station of Black’s Tire Charity Golf and Hooter’s Pro Cup Race” weekend! The weekend includes a charity golf tournament on Friday, June 22 as well as the nationally televised race on Saturday the 23rd.

The weekend promises a flurry of activity. The golf tournament, which will take place at Myrtle Beach National, benefits Boys and Girls Homes. Last year the tournament raised over $45,000! The Hooters Pro Cup Series, with annual races in June and October, has become very well known and respected in the racing industry. In its twelfth year, it offers young drivers an opportunity to compete and move to the next level of racing. 94.9 will be at the Customer Appreciation Hospitality Tent on Saturday (6 – 8pm) before the big race at 7:30.

Black’s Tire and Auto Service, headquartered in Whiteville, will host the weekend and sponsor a team in the race with Shelby Howard as the driver. If Howard does well, possibility is good that he may go on to either a Busch or NASCAR race! The Myrtle Beach Speedway is recognized as an important “training ground” for some of NASCAR’s biggest racing stars including Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Gordon, and four generations of Pettys!

Black’s Tire and Auto Service has been in business since 1929. They have 31 locations, including Whiteville, North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, and Conway. 94.9 will be on hand at these locations to help promote the weekend…(Wednesday, June 20, 9am – 12 noon in Whiteville; Thursday, June 21, 10am – 12 noon in North Myrtle Beach and also from 3pm – 5pm in Myrtle Beach; Friday, June 22, 10am – 12 noon in Conway).
