Vanna White dedicates new North Myrtle Beach 

Vanna White was in town recently to dedicate the new Welcome to North Myrtle Beach signs that have been erected at the northern and southern edges of our city. The ceremony took place on Thursday, October 18 on Highway 17 South near 47th Avenue across from Barefoot Landing. Mayor Marilyn Hatley and other Council members were on hand as well as local television crews and fans. Billy Smith, morning broadcaster on 94.9 the Surf, reminisced with Vanna about her late mother’s weekly PR show on WNMB years ago. Vanna often accompanied her mother and would sit in the studio with Billy and flip through his 45’s to pick out her favorites. A native of North Myrtle Beach, Vanna has been the cohost of WHEEL OF FORTUNE since 1982.
