Democratic Sand Sculptures Despite a deluge of rain and wind, Team Sandtastics has pulled it off again!
Finishing touches were taking place on Sunday afternoon, just one day prior to the Democratic Presidential debate scheduled for Monday, January 21 from 8 – 10 PM at the Palace Theatre. This masterpiece is located in the east parking lot of Broadway at the Beach, directly facing the Palace Theatre. The images of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards (left to right) smiled out at passers-by in hopeful anticipation of the big event on Monday. In addition, one side featured the likeness of US Congressman James Clyburn, who was very instrumental in securing Myrtle Beach as the debate site, welcoming all to Myrtle Beach. Please visit our PHOTO GALLERY to capture the scenes. These sand sculptures, or "Mount Myrtle" as they have been nicknamed, have received national news coverage and have greatly enhanced Myrtle Beach’s reputation for gracious hospitality.
