US Airways Chooses the Grand Strand! US Airways is the leading aircraft carrier at the Myrtle Beach International Airport. Their in-flight magazine is read by over 5 million travelers each month. In addition, 8 – 10 times per year, the magazine offers a profile of a city or destination that covers all areas of interest…from business to healthcare to educational resources to recreation to real estate.
It is indeed a thrill that US Airways has selected to showcase Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand in their December, 2006 issue! Most of us who live here proudly proclaim “PARADISE” when asked what it is really like to live on the Grand Strand. Likewise, many visitors feel the same way, as the numbers compiled by the tourism industry verify. The exciting news that the Grand Strand will have this opportunity for international exposure came from Brad Dean at the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce in a letter to all chamber members in early August. Members were invited and encouraged to participate in idea submissions to the editorial and marketing staffs of the magazine. A lavish reception was held at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club on September 6, where locals had the opportunity to meet the US Airways folks in person. Steve Mitchem, Managing Director of the Profile Series, introduced his creative team. Enthusiastic credit was given to Brad Dean and the Myrtle Beach Chamber for their passion and involvement.
