There is a big drought in good new beach music songs. Look at the top 20, there are none that are all that good. I'm playing my old ones.
Shellseeker Denise 12-28-2011 06:02 am
Thanks so much for the great music. You guys are great! Believe me, 94.9 the surf will help me maintain sanity until warm beach weather 2012!

Merry Christmas to the on-the-air DJs and staff & management at 94.9 The Surf. You bring a little bit of Christmas each and every day to those of us that love beach music. Thanks for all of your hard work!!

The current 3-6 pm DJ does not continuely talk over the music. How refreshing. Keep up the good job Jason. Thanks for 94.9 The Surf and their staff.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !

While I am at our home in North Myrtle Beach, the radio is always on 94.9. When I come back to Charlotte North Carolina, my home radios are also on 94.9. I bought a small FM transmitter and feed the signal from the laptop to it and I have the Surf on all the radios in the house.* * * * * * *from the Surf: Thank you very much. We are glad you enjoy the station and we appreciate your comments very much.

I was just sick that I had to miss Ted's interview with Mel Carter....I have loved his music since I was a teenager. Do you archive your interviews so that I could still hear it? Let me know if you do and where I can find it. Thanks, Sharon

Larry C---Try going to radioshaker.com to listen online. It usually works for me when Warp Radio will not. Most of the time howeer, I can get it through Warp Radio.

When I try to listen live, the streaming never starts. I may have my security set too high or not have the correct software to listen. Can you advise?

Thanks. ***Take a look at your firewall and see if you a block set up. Also, since we stream on our site through Warp Radio, try going directly to www.warpradio.com and type in our call letters in the find a station search: WVCO. See if the streaming comes up for you this way.

Okay, trivia time. I've been searching for a song I loved a couple of years back. Bad news: I don't know the title or the artist. Good news: It starts off with the telephone ringing and the male vocalist saying something like "Don't hang up the phone." Please, put me out of my misery and solve the question for me: Who Sang and What Song? **we'll pass this one along to our resident Music expert Ted Bell.
Love That Music 12-15-2011 08:26 am
I am so thankful that I can listen to The Surf 24/7. There is no other station anywhere that can outshine 94.9. Thank you Ted Bell for your love of the music and your appreciation for the listeners.

If you are so pleased with the announcers in the 3-6 time slot. why are you constantly changing them? Also, why does you current guy complain that no one calls in responce to his offers for a prize....I think that it is time for certain people to put their grudges on the shelf them and give the listeners the person that they went at that time slot.
**** from The Surf: While we cannot and will not discuss personnel individually, we are indeed pleased with all three of our regular hosts. We will however, respond to your "grudge" comment. We don't have any grudges against anyone. Life is too short for such things. If you are referring to anyone who has been a past dj on the Surf, we hold everyone in high regard for their knowledge of Carolina Beach Music and their devotion to it. Every day we hear from many people who give us their input, and all of it is appreciated. Bill

Listen to you from Richmond, VA. Visit NMB as often as I can. But when I can't get down there, I still have you with me! Great station. * * * from the Surf: Thank you so very much!
Mike Davis 12-12-2011 02:52 am
Is your server down today? That's the message I'm getting when I click on "listen live." *** from the Surf: All ok on this end. Streaming up and running; no problems. Sometimes you can have an outage in a particular area of your internet provider. If you continue to have no signal, please let us know.
Cathy from Greensboro... 12-08-2011 07:13 pm
I may live in Greensboro NC, but my heart is in NMB. Thanks to 94.9 The Surf for keeping me updated on the "goings-on" at the beach. I tune in daily from work, and can't make it through my work days without the Skipper and Ted Bell!

The Band Of OZ senior member gave me your info.

Last week I had major one time high intensity radiation for a brain tumor. A friend let me stay at his house on Pawley's Island to recoup
and found you guys on radio. What a JOY.

Now back in Atlanta listening to you guys on my laptop everyday now.

Keep tunes coming, helped me through rough time this week.

All the best from "hot lanta"

For those of you who want to listen to The Surf on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad...I use an app called "ooTunes Radio". I had them add The Surf to their streams a few years back and it still works with the new Surf. The only difference is that The Surf no longer streams in stereo...it's mono...just as it is on your computer.
lordsparky 11-28-2011 05:59 pm
Does anyone know who sings "(So Long) Since I Felt this way". I hear on 94.9 but don't recognize the artist. ******from the Surf: It's Russell Tompkins, Jr., who was the lead singer for the Stylistics.
Van Bolick 11-26-2011 11:30 pm
Listen all the time. All you guys are great.Keep it going. Loud and clear in Hickory.
Sharon and Woody 11-25-2011 09:45 pm
Whoever is in charge of the music this afternoon is doing a GREAT job! We are loving the "newer" beach music you are playing. Great listening while traveling back home from the beach. We listen to the surf online at home and on the radio while at the beach. Awesome selections today.
