There are soooo many people around the world that love 94.9 The Surf and Beach Music, however, I now live in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It would be such an awesome thing if you could produce an app for Android phones and iPhones so that we can hear you anywhere, all the time. What do ya think? * * * * * from The Surf: We think it's a great idea. It's getting closer to the top of our "to do" list. Thank you.

I am so happy to see 94.9 The Surf back on the air!!!...how I have missed all of this great music so very much!!! Thank you so much to everyone that made this happen! This is my very favorite internet station and I so wish I could get it on my car and cell phone! You guys are the very best! :-) LOVE YA's!!!

I've really enjoyed the station this week as you've been doing your shows live from Ocean Drive. It's given a nice "extra" touch to this fall's SOS.
Loving the Surf 09-24-2011 06:21 am
Great to have you guys back. One suggestion, could you please announce the artist and song more often. There are songs that I have heard over and over that I really like but I have yet to hear the title or artist announced.
Here is one, the chorus goes;
I want a love I can call mine come rain or shine....

Keep up the great work guys!
jim 09-21-2011 11:04 pm
the people who want Ray (censored) Scott back really dont know him. The station is great with the guys you have. ******From the Surf: Thanks for liking the station as we now have it. We're proud of Skipper, Ted and Spider. But we also want people to know we don't have a problem with any of the announcers that were heard on the "old" Surf.

To Management-Thank you, thank you for bringing back the BEST in beach music. The negative comments should be sent in an e-mail and not posted on this page. The solution is simple, if you don't like something about 94.9, just e-mail the station. Don't try to rip the DJ's. They are doing their job.(And all of us were new to our jobs at one point too!) Do you get on websites for TV programs that you do not care for, or do you simply change the station? I am so thankful to be able to listen ANYTIME, 24-7-365, and it is FREE. All I have to do is pay for my internet, which I already have. I will try to keep my attitude of gratitude, and be thankful that I can listen to the music of my choice anytime. Again, thank you management for giving us this great gift of beach music. Wish I could pick you up in my car and not just on the web!!!!!!!!

Spider is much better than the Deacon, but Ray Scott is the guy you need in that time slot. * * * ** from Bill at 94.9 The Surf: While we always appreciate our listener opinions, and we think Ray is a great talent, we are very happy with the folks we have. Our three guys are working so hard and getting so many great things done.
Patsy 09-16-2011 09:02 pm
I agree with you, Jeff. Spider is nice, friendly and loves to talk with the listeners. Much better now.
Jeff Richards; Myrtle Beach, SC 09-16-2011 08:25 pm
To the one who calls himself "SOS". What a crass comment to have made about "Spider" having big shoes to fill. You don't know what you are talking about. Spider doesn't have to worry about filling someone else's shoes. The ones he wears on The Surf right now fit mighty fine! Good job Spider and good job to the whole Surf team. The station now is a lot better than it ever used to be.

What happened to the Deacon? Missing him!
SOS 09-15-2011 11:59 pm
It does seem that the afternoon DJ for 94.9 should know that SOS stands for "Society of Stranders" NOT "Society of Shaggers"! Love the station, but that is VERY lame...get it together Spider Webb...you have very big shoes to fill!

To R2 from ATL: Your song is Rick Strickland's "So Do I" from his "Island Soul" cd.

You guys @ The Surf are the greatest. Listen every day and no matter where I'm at, I'm at the beach.

Listening this morning and am glad you are back live. Trying to find a song that was played around 1245 on 9/11. The repeating lyric was "so do I". Can you help me out? Thanks.
Ted Lambert 09-11-2011 06:40 pm
Here in WV we don't get much beach music so even the oldest beach music is new to us. Would love to purchase a lot of this music but you don't have DJs during my listening time to tell the artist and song title. How about listing the name and artist on the browser so that we can call Judy's and order. Also we have plenty of oldies stations locally so would like to here more local NC beach music.**************from the Surf: Ted our "live" dj lineup is active each weekday from 6 am to 6 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, and Sunday evenings too. Expanding it into other times as well.

I love beach music and 94.9 especially since it's recent change
However I'm a New Yorker and I don't think you understand what turning the radio on and hearing a news account of a building falling does.
That show wasn't in good taste. I had a personal tragedy soon after 9/11 and would like to be put into a medically induced coma. Since no doctor will...I will hold 9/11 in my heart forever but don't need reminders.

I am with u Jayne. Then they followed the song with Lee Greenwood - it made me very emotional. Between both songs, I couldn't speak - just got chocked up! Thanks Surf!
Jayne M 09-09-2011 09:28 pm
WOW...what is the name of the song that was just played about 9-11???
Dede Heron 09-09-2011 06:02 pm
Just want to thank you for remembering 9/11 over the airwaves...it's difficult to explain all the emotions involved with Patriot Day, especially on this 10th anniversary year. Suffice it to say...God Bless you, and God Bless America.

Love the station! Listen to you from Raleigh and appreciate you guys keeping beach music alive. My sons are learning how to shag and it is cool that they know artists and songs from this great era of music.

I mostly listen to 94.9 on the radio in my car. I don't know what you guys did ,but I use to me bored. and frankly the station got to be a bore. So I stared listening to 103.5 . they were more shaggy and more original. But i tuned in last week and I can tell the difference in the sounds . I am amazed by Skipper he has such and amazing voice so mellow . The speaker just seems to love his speaking voice . some announcer just have that great voice his is like mellow music . You guys have made the right chocices. I'll be listening more.
