Keep playing the great music and hope everyone "stateside" stays safe during the upcoming storms!

I find it amazing that my two favorite radio stations in the entire universe are in the same place! I've been listening to WNMB for all its great music for ten years now. It reminds me so much of the great stations that were here when I was a teenager in the 60s. I also love The Surf. Just learned to shag a couple of years ago and everytime I turn on the Surf it makes me want to dance! I listen to both stations whenever my family and I are at the beach, and I listen to your internet broadcasts here at home. Keep it coming!

Hi there, This is Patsy and I have been listening to you all afternoon. I live in Chesterfield, Va. We just had an earthquake and it was a 5.9. We are all well but it was pretty scary.

I just love North Myrtle Beach and we have spent amany a vacation down there during SOS week. Love Main Street!

Thanks for all the great Shagging songs.

Have a great day!

Patsy

So glad you are back on the airwaves. The internet connection makes my work day a little sunnier!

Miss the Freakin Deacon. He is an incredible talent! I sure hope you all can figure out a way to get him back on the air and part of the whole beach music scene.
Sue 08-21-2011 07:29 pm
Where is the Freakin Deacon? He was the lonely reason that I listened to the SURF! Monday- Friday 3-6 with the Deacon was great....like ole times. The Skipper is great too! Maybe the Skipper and Deacon could jump on Internet Radio! Now that would be a blast from the past. BTW the SURF seems not to be a powerful station b/c other stations seem to over-ride your station....maybe not up to date equipment! Come SURF don't let the beach groupies down!
**** Sue, thank you for your comments, but let us correct something. Our company has invested much in new equipment including all new audio processing, a virtually rebuilt transmitter, etc. Very few stations are as up to date. The power of the station is the same as always, and we are getting great comments on reception from places as far away as Florence, Wilmington, Lumberton etc. Reception whereever you live is going to be based on the circumstances of your specific location and your radio, antenna and so on. As to the Deacon, he's a great dj. That's why we brought him on board in the first place. But the Deacon, with our blessings, had the opportunity to better his income at the moment doing something else. We hope to bring him back at a time that's right for both he and the station in the future. Thanks for listening. If it's Carolina Beach Music you love, and the Beach music tunes from days gone by, nobody will do it better than The Surf. Oh yes.....internet radio. As you may know, we stream our website at 949thesurf.com The numbers are incredible and we are very appreciative.

Thanks to Bill and Susi Beach Music is back where it belongs, on 94.9 ...... Love the Skipper and Ted Bell. Did not care for the Deacon to begin with but he had started to grown on me, but is he now gone? *****from the Surf: "Spider Webb" is now doing afternoons from 3 to 6. The Deacon is a great guy and good friend. Don't be surprised to see him back. Thank you for recognizing Bill and Susi, but there are other partners in the Surf who are very important to its success. They are Jessica, Lindsey, HG and Harold Worley.

Glad the Surf is back on the air. Missed listening to good old beach music at work on the web.
Hey , how about the Surf giving Danny Woods and the Board Of Directors a good boost on the radio. Great singer , really miss him and the General with the Chairman Of The Board. The Board Of Directors is a great band also.Need to hear more of them and Danny.

Don't know why my post was not published yesterday, but P from oib is right on and Rob from MB is dead wrong!
The song about the President was ignorant and stupid; not funny at all.
Let's stick to what you do best, good 'ol beach and shag music. Leave the political bashing to the talking heads on tv and talk radio!
Rob Bennett from Myrtle Beach 08-18-2011 02:38 am
To the dude who criticized Skipper for the little 2 minute Obama comedy song....lighten up bozo. It was funny. In fact, it was great. The station made no political comment. So, thank you Skipper for bringing a funny moment to the morning. I appreciate it.

Welcome back.

If Freakin Deacon is gone, how about bringing Ray Scott back to the Surf where he belongs!!!!!!!! 3P - 7P * * ** from The Surf: We have a great personality starting on-the-air in just a few days. Say welcome to the "Spider". Spider Webb will be on from 3 to 6 p.m. He knows the beach and the beach music!
Neil Duggan 08-17-2011 09:17 pm
Hi it's Neil Duggan again from Doncaster, South Yorkshire in the UK.
Once again I am chilling out after a stress full day at work by listening to your station......keep it coming!
P from oib 08-17-2011 05:24 pm
Tell Skipper that politics do not belong on the beach station, no matter what side you're on. We get enough of that in other areas. Hopefully since Deacon has left, Skipper isn't trying to become the cute one. Keep it what it should be - great beach and boogie music.

What I love best about The Surf is that you hear a different variety every single day. You do not hear the same old songs, over and over. I love the old classics, and I love the new songs and groups as well. What a wonderful mix. From the Skipper to the Freakin Deacon, and Ted Bell in between, it doesn't get any better.
